We are seeking a detail oriented and experienced AP/Payroll Specialist to join our team!  The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounts payable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, as well has handling payroll processing efficiently.  This role requires a high level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently, including verifying invoice accuracy, obtaining needed approvals, and entering data into the accounting system.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist in preparing and processing weekly payroll for union labor employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Enter and maintain payroll records, including employee information, tax withholding, and deductions.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll related matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Assist with monthly reporting for OCIP/DCIP projects.
  • Coordinate with IT to resolve SOX Compliance issues.
  • Research and resolve stale uncashed payroll checks; issue stop payments, and reissue/record unclaimed funds.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations related to payroll processing and accounts payable.
  • Demonstrate the highest level of integrity and ethics with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated accomplishments in the following areas:

  • Ability to anticipate and meet internal customer needs.
  • Proven communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment

Education & Experience:

  • 3+ years experience in accounts payable and payroll processing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Required
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and Kofax preferred
  • Experience processing Union payroll, preferred

Working Conditions:

The majority of the time you will work in a typical office environment.  Occasionally, you may travel to a construction job site. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space.  You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.

Salary Range: 

$26.44 - $31.25/hour

*Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.*
