The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring procurement activities, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of goods and services required for IME operations. The Procurement Specialist will work closely with the Procurement Manager to assist with purchasing materials and maintaining inventory levels. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Procurement Specialist will collaborate with construction project teams, estimating, and other groups to procure services, materials, and equipment to support successful construction projects. This role will contribute to IME’s competitive advantage through the application of best practices in supply management and driving overall business profitability.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate prices, and ensure quality of materials and services provided.  Analyze and compare quotes and specifications to make recommendations for vendors and suppliers based on quality, cost, and supplier key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Create, review, and process purchase orders, invoices, and other procurement-related documents as necessary. Investigate and resolve discrepancies.   
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, delivery schedules, and other procurement-related documents. Track delivery schedules and communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure procurement needs are met in a timely manner
  • Conduct regular supplier evaluations to ensure quality and efficiency of services provided. Assist with the identification and evaluation of potential new vendors.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations for procurement process improvements

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict management and negotiation.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to build strong, effective relationships with team members, project teams, subcontractors and suppliers
  • High level of competency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with procurement software and systems preferred
  • Familiarity with Financial systems (ERP) JDE preferred.

Education and Experience

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain management or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1+ years of experience in procurement or a related field

Working Conditions:

The majority of the time you will work in a typical office environment, the remainder of the time you will be on construction job sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching, and shoring, sometimes in a confined space.  You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.

Salary Range: 21.65 to 31.25/ hr.  45,000 – 65,000 annually

*Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.*
