Overview

IME is looking for all levels for our Estimating team. Entry-level to Senior Estimators are responsible for estimating construction and industrial projects utilizing a variety of tools and software. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and relationship building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Accubid Live Count, advanced Excel spreadsheets and Bluebeam on a consistent basis.
  • Update and maintain Estimating Software Program.
  • Must be sufficiently adaptable to accept and perform in a timely and effective manner work assignments that are outside the normal (day-to-day) routine as well as to accepting changing company strategy as applicable.
  • Maintain a current understanding on the electrical construction market in Colorado and all other areas of focus for the organization.
  • Exhibits discretion in reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting bid documents to determine Scope of Work and uses independent judgment to formulate the estimating approach and bid strategy in a manner that enables the attainment of awarded projects within contract quotes.
  • Calculating and preparation of complete quantity take offs, material price lists, labor costs per man hour, equipment, and other required statistical data to achieve established ratio of volume awarded to bid volume.
  • Maintains accurate, complete and updated project plans, specifications, correspondence and estimating documentation of quantity take-offs and pricing data on projects, subcontractors, and suppliers routinely within policy and procedures.
  • Must communicate information and state problems of challenges to be resolved in a clear, concise, courteous, nondiscriminatory and professional manner, and be able to provide clarification as necessary.
  • Must show respect for the opinions of others and behave in such a way as to ensure an atmosphere free of needless interruptions, difficulty and or discrimination.
  • Must receive and provide clear, constructive feedback regarding work performance (to/from individuals or groups) and be able to provide clarification as necessary.
  • Must be sufficiently adaptable to accept and perform in a timely and effective manner work assignments that are outside the normal (day-to-day) routine.
  • Must adapt, with minimal or no advanced notice, to changes in how business is conducted and work is accomplished.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in all aspects of estimating. Including experience estimating projects on a conceptual basis
  • Advanced knowledge of Estimating Techniques and ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
  • Estimating experience utilizing Accubid is a plus.
  • Must have ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, Projects, Word and Excel to develop professional documents; edit and proof written materials; prepare and maintain complete reports and records.
  • Excellent communicative and interpersonal skills required working in a corporate team environment.

 

 

Salary Range: $ 70,000.00 -125,000.00/year

Working Conditions:

The majority of the time you will work in a typical office environment, the remainder of the time you will be on construction job sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching and shoring, sometimes in a confined space.  You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.
