The Chief Electrical Estimator will report to the Director of Preconstruction and work at IME’s Headquarters in beautiful Denver, Colorado – one of the most sought-after locations in the U.S. The beautiful mountains, skiing, hiking and adventure are only part of Colorado’s allure. It is also home to many craft breweries, award winning restaurants, a cultural downtown scene and annual events and festivals. Relocation is available for this opportunity. 

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead a team of estimators to ensure timely and accurate estimates are produced for all projects. Effectively manages and assigns workloads to direct reports to take advantage of strengths of staff, training opportunities, and development of a strong and consistent department ensuring outstanding customer service. Develop and mentor estimating team. Foster employee engagement and career growth by providing training opportunities, effective feedback, and guidance as well as setting clear expectations and accountability.
  • Collaboratively lead the estimating and proposal process for the pre-construction group by providing strategic insights to pursuit strategy. Actively participate in the design review process including leading stakeholder decision meetings and providing client-focused solutions. Review and analyze project plans and specifications to determine project requirements and scope of work. Actively participate in RFQ and RFP responses including client interviews. Review bid results and provide feedback to the team on areas of improvement. Effectively communicate information regarding project risks, challenges, and opportunities to clients and colleagues
  • As a working estimator, create budgets based on conceptual information tracking and trending cost as the project progresses through design. Develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor work. Prepare original and competitive bid proposals for submission to clients illustrating the value of the IME team.
  • Build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to stay informed of market trends and pricing. Work collaboratively with project managers and engineers to identify value engineering opportunities. Facilitate project handoff to the operations team.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree or Associate degree in a relevant field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Identifying, preparing, and proposing value engineering opportunities. Demonstrated success working with customers and design teams on design build and design assist projects
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical estimating, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Experience with estimating software and tools: Bluebeam, Accubid and Live count preferred.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations and codes.

Working Conditions:

The majority of the time you will work in a typical office environment, the remainder of the time you will be on construction job sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching and shoring, sometimes in a confined space.  You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.

Salary Range: $ 120000 - 200000 annually 

*Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.*
