Overview

IME Field Supervision will provide oversight, coordination, management support and technical expertise to Field Supervisors and Project Management team, as needed for all aspects of Electrical Construction and Service Projects.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day to day site operations of field labor forces including General Foremen, Foremen and Warehouse Tools and Equipment Manager.
  • Assist site supervision on multiple projects to ensure and coordinate appropriate manpower, tools, equipment, and materials are on site for the efficient execution of the projects.
  • Assist Project Managers, General Foremen and Foremen in the supervision and responsibility of the total project efforts in accordance with design, budget, quality, and schedule (Capture changes, maintain correct labor ratios, complete all required paperwork properly).
  • Assist General Foremen, Foremen and Project Managers by providing technical assistance (interpretation of drawings, recommendations of construction methods, equipment etc.)
  • Assist Project Managers with project forecasts for Cost to Complete.
  • Assist General Foremen, Foremen and Project Managers to maintain good relationships contractors, owners, architects, engineers, etc. Attend and participate in meetings, as necessary.
  • Supervise the implementation of quality assurance and controls (site testing and inspection efforts).
  • Communicate and enforce Safety Program. Conduct Site Safety Surveys.
  • Supervise preparation and execution of IPT’s, Project Schedules, and other IME field processes and procedures.
  • Identify necessary training and education to support General Foremen, Foremen, and other field forces.
  • Conduct meetings with General Foremen and Foremen, as necessary.
  • Assist with long-term planning and development of initiatives that further the company’s overall goals.
  • Assess and analyze departmental budgets to help minimize expenses and optimize profit.
  • Identify potential issues and work toward finding solutions that maximize efficiency and revenue.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, vendors, and various levels of management in a written and verbal setting.

Qualifications

  • Broad understanding of the commercial and industrial electrical construction industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge and familiarity with drawings, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders etc.
  • Extensive field supervision experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction environment.
  • Proven management skills.
  • Excellent leadership qualities.
  • Strong decision making/problem solving skills.
  • Ability to function effectively as part of a team.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Delegates work appropriately.
  • Good math skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office products.

 

Essential Physical Requirements – the employee should be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations

  • Must be able to remain standing approximately 50% of the time.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, climbing.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and vendors and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Occasionally lifting 40 pounds.

 

 

Working Conditions:

A portion of the time you will work in a typical office environment, the remainder of the time you will be on construction job sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching and shoring, sometimes in a confined space.  You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.
