This position is responsible for developing and promoting operations standards for project control practices. Advises and assists in the initial development of project control methods for large construction and special projects including work breakdown structure, accounting, scheduling, estimating, and reporting. Acts as the liaison between pre-con and operations team for project start-up. Responsible for the development and analysis of Intermountain Productivity Tracker (IPT), project controls, project schedules, and support for project lifecycle execution. Supports initial and ongoing project setup. Advise and assist in the development of the schedule work breakdown structure, resource loading & profiles.


Project start-up:

· Collaborates with the project team to agree on means and methods for project scope, may be expected to lead this process. Responsible for gaining means and methods agreement throughout the project team. Establishes Project files and documentation following IME standards, Maintains accurate project files.

· Establishes initial setup of large projects for all aspects of project controls. Set up the control package for assigned projects including Work breakdown structure, project schedule, and productivity tracker. Enters the field takeoff into Accubid. Identifies risks and opportunities based on comparison of field take-off to bid estimates. Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims.


Job Productivity and maintenance:

· Enters project into Intermountain Productivity Tracker (IPT.) Monitors and maintains IPT on an ongoing basis. Analysis of job productivity at the task level including new and outstanding change orders, task level. Enters change orders into IPT. Reports to Sr. Leadership at task level regarding any productivity changes or concerns. Maintains project schedule. Analyzes and evaluates schedule management involving the critical path method of scheduling techniques, estimating, project cost management, forecasting, and document control.

· Provides detailed tracking and reporting of project control metrics including Earned Value, Schedule Performance Index, schedule variance, resource allocation, and utilization. Performs resource leveling analyses as required.

· Coordinates with Project Managers to obtain weekly and monthly productivity and schedule updates. Assists the Project Managers in providing accurate project forecasting. Interfaces with project management team and field leadership to perform project audits.



Knowledge, skill and competencies:

· Demonstrated knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and monitoring/control methods and practices.

· Full working knowledge through field experience to facilitate and produce detailed construction schedules and interface those construction schedules with engineering and procurement activities.

· Proficiency with critical path scheduling, estimating and document control

· Ability to work independently, think creatively and analytically, and make quick and sound decisions.

· Decent presentation skills.

· Must have excellent attention to detail.

· Excellent computer skills, proficient in MS Office Suite, MS Project, BlueBeam and full working knowledge of Accubid. Working knowledge of Procore

· Willingness to travel to various construction sites on a regular basis.

· Ability to work well under pressure and demonstrated time management skills.


Education and Experience:

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in construction management, related degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· 5 years project controls experience or industrial and/or commercial electrical project management experience

· Field experience as an industrial and/or commercial electrician helpful. Highly preferred


Working Conditions:

The majority of the time you will work in a typical office environment, the remainder of the time you will be on construction job sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching

and shoring, sometimes in a confined space. You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.
