Overview

Responsible for project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, project accounting, and control. Provide technical direction and ensure compliance with quality standards, project specifications and schedule. Oversees solar electrical construction projects ranging from $5-$20+ Million in revenue. The role manages a team of project support staff, providing mentorship, career development and day-to-day support.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor and ensure optimum utilization of resources, labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Work closely with procurement staff and vendors to ensure cost-effective procurement of materials.
  • Project accounting functions including, budgeting, tracking project expenses and minimizing exposure and risk in the project.
  • Ensure that construction activities move according to predetermined schedule.
  • Devise the project work plans and make revisions as and when need arises.
  • Communicate effectively with the clients and subcontractors responsible for completing various phases of the project.
  • Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and hold regular status meetings with all the project team members.
  • Maintain strict adherence to the budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards.
  • Onsite management of Construction.
  • Ensure project documents are complete.
  • Identify the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims.
  • Must communicate information and state problems of challenges to be resolved in a clear, concise, courteous, nondiscriminatory, and professional manner, and be able to provide clarification, as necessary.
  • Must show respect for the opinions of others and behave in such a way as to ensure an atmosphere free of needless interruptions, difficulty and or discrimination.
  • Must receive and provide clear, constructive feedback regarding work performance (to/from individuals or groups) and be able to provide clarification, as necessary.
  • Must be sufficiently adaptable to accept and perform in a timely and effective manner work assignments that are outside the normal (day-to-day) routine.
  • Must adapt, with minimal or no advanced notice, to changes in how business is conducted, and work is accomplished.
  • Must be able to perform other related duties as required. (Related duties as required are duties which may not be specifically listed in the class specification or position description but are within the general occupational series and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s class of work.)
  • All other duties as required to effectively manage projects.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills in a wide variety of settings, strong writing skills.
  • Field experience as an industrial and/or commercial electrician helpful.
  • Thorough understanding of safety standards in electrical construction.
  • Strong client relationship building experience, ideally within applicable local market.
  • Strong financial forecasting, planning and management skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in MS Office Suite, BlueBeam and working knowledge of Accubid or similar estimating software.
  • Willingness to travel to various construction sites on a frequent basis. Some loactions might be out of state, per diem will be provided 
  • Proven ability to manage projects to completion on time and within budget.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, delegate workload effectively and demonstrate effective time management skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, related degree, or equivalent combination of skills and training.
  • 3 years of project management experience

Salary Range: $ 75,000 – 120,000
