Overview

The Superintendent to oversee and ensure success of designated IME projects in Colorado. This position requires close pre-planning and communication with Preconstruction, Operations, Field and Administrative teams. The successful candidate possesses a proven track record of producing quality work and leading successful project outcomes. Will utilize industry expertise, technology integration and leadership skills to contribute towards client satisfaction and meeting safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety walks and CTC/Productivity job walks on a consistent and proactive basis
  • Responsible for coaching and mentoring IME Field Supervision, utilizing a formally documented, career path focused method.
  • Create and evaluate project schedules.
  • Responsible for successful and standardized project preparation, execution, and closeout tasks on all designated projects.
  • Recognize and resolve field supervision issues on projects.
  • Provide excellent leadership while maintaining a humble and learning mentality.
  • Assist with scheduling and provide analysis.
  • Coordinate all manpower needs with project teams.
  • Create best QA/QC practices and implement both a project specific and overarching basis.
  • Hold project team(s) accountable for QA/QC.
  • Ensure all installations meet project specifications, quality, and NEC standards.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to standards of quality, cost control, scheduling, safety, and best practices.
  • Assist in development and implementation of project close-out procedures.
  • Create and administer project assessment reviews.
  • Train and evaluate project team members.
  • Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, owner’s details and specs, maintaining a strong understanding of work, prints and bids.
  • Conduct regular audits of quality and productivity on designated projects and generate audit reports.
  • Track maintain and report progress, daily logs, reports, safety meetings and QA/QC details, in adherence with project documents, company guidelines and policies.
  • Train and evaluate employees, utilizing company training program and make recommendations for hiring, promotions and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct one-on-one performance and quarterly performance evaluations per company guidelines and policies.
  • Work as a liaison between site crews, office administration and management.
  • Create, implement, and maintain cost reduction and increased productivity practices.
  • Develop project execution plans.
  • Inspect as-built drawings to be submitted for project turnover.
  • Develop, maintain, and promote strong working relationships with NECA and IBEW Local 68.

Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills with working proficiency in MS Office; Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, Bluebeam, Adobe, and ability to quickly learn new software and programs.
  • Ability to accomplish tasks successfully in a paperless and highly automated environment.
  • Current and high-level understanding of the large-scale electrical construction industry.
  • Candidate will be motivated; detail oriented and will possess strong interpersonal skills to work in a diverse, dynamic, and fast paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to changes in IME’s business strategies and/or lines of business.
  • Must communicate information, issues, and solutions in a clear, concise, courteous, nondiscriminatory, and professional manner, and be able to provide clarification, as necessary.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical field supervision.
  • Must have strong knowledge and ability to interpret the latest version of the National Electrical Code.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed.
  • Ability to read civil, mechanical, architectural, structural, and electrical blueprints, and all other drawings or applicable documents associated with commercial construction.

Working Conditions:

  • Job requires working on your feet, 8 to 10 hours daily up to 6 days a week.
  • Job requires you to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
  • Work from all types of ladders, stepladders up to 14', "A" frame ladders and all size extension ladders.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, masks, earplugs and respirators).
  • Follow special procedures including contamination control, noise control, building systems awareness and procedures.
  • Candidate must be able to work night shifts and mid shifts, as required by customers.
  • Respond to short notice overtime requirements.
