Oversee and manage electrical construction department operations and project activities. Implement plans and policies to achieve overall corporate objectives and maximize operating results. Responsible for business development, timely project performance, and meeting project quality requirements. 



  • Manage the operations of the construction department 
  • Responsible for the hiring, supervision, training, and development of the construction department staff.
  • Successfully coordinate with Human Resources, Safety, and other departments to ensure successful career development and department success.
  • Manage a job training and safety program that ensures compliance with the National Electric Safety Code guidelines and adherence to all additional safety rules and guidelines established by the organization.
  • Development of short and long-term plans and budgets for the department.
  • Manage financial control and review of ongoing projects. Analyze project progress and review monthly projections.
  • Implement the approved plans and budgets for large projects, including supervising team members on contracted construction with regular progress reports. 
  • Visit project sites to monitor progress, maintain relationships, and verify quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist subordinates with problem-solving, as needed.
  • Manage department requirements for fleet, tools, and construction equipment, working closely with the Tools & Equipment Department.
  • Manage purchase and inventory of materials and equipment by coordinating with project managers and procurement staff.
  • Coordinate with other departments to optimize teamwork, efficiency, and cross-selling services.
  • Provide training, guidance, and direction to subordinates toward their professional development.
  • Coordinate periodic reports on department operations.
  • Develop and maintain a positive corporate image.
  • Proactive communication and oversite to ensure consistent, risk mitigation and overall department success.
  • Exercise initiatives or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.


  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent combination of directly applicable training and experience in commercial electrical 
  • Experience in large commercial electrical construction highly desirable.
  • Ten years of experience, of which at least five years has been in a supervisory role directly applicable to the responsibilities of this position.
  • Must have experience with field supervision, project management, and estimating.
  • Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite with the ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Prior estimating software experience highly desired.
  • Must have the ability to foster and maintain a team-oriented work environment in the department and companywide.


Salary Range: Base $145,000 – 180,000

The organization provides a comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefit package for employees, spouse, and dependents active on the first of the month, following the month of hire. Additionally, life insurance (1 X annual base salary), short-term disability and long-term disability is provided to the employee at no cost. Working Conditions:

Much of the time you will work in a typical office environment, the remainder of the time you will be on construction job sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching and shoring, sometimes in a confined space.  You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.
