IME is a well established electrical contractor, in business since 1946. We're seeking an additional Project Engineer, supporting our Reno, NV operation. Assist the Project Manager in ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget and on schedule. The Project Engineer is the liaison between the Project Manager, design team, and owner. Responsible for document control for the project. Assist with job walks, documentation, pricing, scheduling, and additional support functions contributing toward a successful project.

Responsibilities

  • Interpretation of applicable construction drawings
  • Assist with the review of plans and specifications and prepare a checklist of contract features, which require periodic attention
  • Assist with cost estimates as needed
  • Assist with project scheduling as needed
  • Ensure maintenance of accurate records
  • Assist with preparing statements of work, submittals, change management and necessary daily and weekly reporting
  • Promote safety in construction operations and ensure compliance with safety requirements
  • Inspect equipment, material, workmanship and finished construction
  • Check progress of work in the field
  • Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures are followed, and materials used conform to required specifications
  • Complete additional tasks and duties as asked by management
  • Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read commercial construction blueprints and drawings
  • 2 years of electrical construction experience highly preferred
  • Minimum of one year of construction experience, similar experience may be considered
  • Degree in Construction Management or similar discipline highly preferred
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite with the ability to quickly learn new software and programs  
  • Proficient with using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera (P6 preferred) at an intermediate or higher level preferred
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must possess strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Must have the ability to think practically to solve office and job-site problems and interface effectively with senior project personnel
  • Ability to travel as needed

 

Benefit Overview:

The organization provides a comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefit package for employees, spouse, and dependents active on the first of the month, following the month of hire. Additionally, life insurance (1 X annual base salary), short-term disability and long-term disability is provided to the employee at no cost. Working Conditions:

The majority of the time you will work in a typical office environment, the remainder of the time you will be on construction job sites. When on construction job sites you will encounter typical construction conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud debris, welding, leading edge, trenching and shoring, sometimes in a confined space.  You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.
