  • Overview

    Oversee and manage electrical division operations and project activities. Implement plans and policies to achieve overall corporate objectives and maximize operating results. Responsible for business development, timely project performance, and meeting quality/specification requirements. 



    • Manage the operations of the MV electric and testing departments.
    • Responsible for the hiring, supervision, training and development of staff that meets all areas of compliance with approved policy and procedures. Coordinate with HR, Safety, Senior Recruiter and training managers.
    • Manage a job training and safety program that ensures compliance with the National Electric Safety Code guidelines and adherence to all additional safety rules and guidelines established by IME.
    • Assist the Director in the development of short and long-term plans and budgets for the MV electric and testing departments.
    • Manage financial control and review of on-going projects. Analyze project progress and review monthly projections. Coordinate this effort with the Director.
    • Implement the approved plans and budgets for the MV electric and testing departments, including supervising team members on contracted construction, testing or maintenance services, with regular progress reports to the Director.
    • Plan, staff, supervise, and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, architects, clients, engineers, project managers and superintendents on assigned projects to ensure a cohesive operating unit.
    • Visit project sites to monitor progress, maintain relationships, and verify quality, safety and customer satisfaction.
    • Assist subordinates with problem-solving, as required.
    • Manage the department requirement for fleet of trucks, tools and construction equipment. Coordinate with the tools & fleet managers.
    • Manage the purchasing and inventory of materials and equipment by coordinating with project managers and procurement manager.
    • Coordinate with the work of other departments to optimize teamwork, efficiency and cross-sell of services.
    • Provide advice, guidance, and direction to subordinates toward their professional development.
    • Coordinate periodic reports on the operations of the departments.
    • Develop and maintain a positive corporate image.
    • Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.


    • Bachelor’s degree, management training/certification, or related field or a high school graduate with substantial postgraduate training and directly applicable experience in electrical utility systems.
    • Experience in MV and testing systems desirable.
    • Ten years of work experience, of which at least five years has been in a supervisory role directly applicable to the responsibilities of this position.


    • Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written, with above average command of the English language.
    • Must be proficient in the use of word processing and spreadsheet computer software.
    • Must have the ability to foster and maintain a team-oriented work environment among all divisions of IME.
    • Meet with staff to identify and resolve problems.
