    • Creating budgets based on conceptual information.
    • Tracking and trending cost as the project progresses through design.
    • Identifying, preparing, and proposing value engineering opportunities.
    • Reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting bid documents to determine project scope and areas of risk.
    • Working with the preconstruction team to formulate the estimating approach and bid strategy.
    • Calculating and preparing complete quantity take offs, material price lists, labor costs per hour, equipment, and other information.
    • Routinely maintaining accurate, complete and updated project plans, specifications, correspondence and estimating documentation.
    • Maintaining current understanding of the electrical construction market in Colorado and all other areas of focus for the organization.
    • Effectively communicating information regarding project risks, challenges, and opportunities in a clear, concise, courteous, and professional manner to customers and coworkers. 
    • The ability to receive and provide clear, constructive feedback regarding work performance (to/from individuals or groups) and being able to provide details or examples as necessary.
    • Adapting sufficiently to accept and perform in a timely and effective manner work assignments that are outside the normal (day-to-day) routine as well as be accepting of changes in overall company strategy.
    • Utilizing Accubid, Live Count, advanced Excel spreadsheets and Bluebeam on a consistent basis.
    • Performing other related duties as required.


    • Experience in estimating largescale healthcare, datacenter, laboratory, high rise, and other complex projects.
    • Experience should include demonstrated ability to estimate projects valued at $5 – 15 million.
    • Demonstrated success working with customers and design teams on design build and design assist projects.
    • Two years of electrical field experience preferred.
    • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management a plus.
    • Estimating Oil and Gas projects a plus. 

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Advanced knowledge of estimating techniques and ability to interpret project cost data.
    • Ability to prepare complex proposals with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent communicative and interpersonal skills to work effectively within team environment.
    • Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize work; communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing; establishing and maintaining effective and positive working relationships.
    • Ability to use Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Word, and Excel to develop professional documents; edit and proof read written materials; prepare and maintain complete reports and records. Proficient use of standard office equipment.

    Working Conditions:

    Your time will be split between working on construction sites and working in a typical office environment. While at construction sites, you will encounter conditions including extreme temperatures, noise, dust, mud, debris, welding, leading edge, trenching and shoring, sometimes in a confined space.  You may be required to visit multiple locations during any one day.
